| While attending NYU, Derek Pike became one of the youngest directors to have a music video featured on MTV. By directing music videos for local artists, Derek was able to put himself through film school - graduating in 2010 from the prestigious Tisch School of the Arts with honors. A natural storyteller, most of his music videos are narrative based. His music video "Oh My" for DJ Drama featuring Wiz Khalifa, Fabolous, and Roscoe Dash was ranked #1 on MTV's countdown and the 25th best music video of 2011 by BET. As a British-American dual citizen from New York, Derek is currently splitting his time between Los Angeles, New York, and London directing music videos and commercials. Some of Derek's recent directorial work includes P. Diddy's son Quincy's debut video "Stay Awhile", and a national Walmart commercial campaign for Monster Headphones. Derek has also had the pleasure of working with other notable artists such as Imelda May, Outasight, Michael Buble, Raekwon of the Wu Tang Clan, New Boyz, Waka Flocka Flame, and Jadakiss, just to name a few. |
